Work and Motor Vehicle Accidents

Motor Vehicle Accidents

We understand that life doesn’t always go to plan. Neither does the traffic, and as the congestion on Perth’s roads continues to worsen, we can expect motor vehicle accidents to occur more frequently. If you are injured in a crash that is not your fault, you will likely be eligible to receive Physiotherapy treatment to assist your recovery. We recommend you firstly see your GP to document your injuries and get the right advice on how you can best manage them. Your GP can then refer you to us if needed, and provided liability for your accident is accepted by the Insurance Commission of Western Australia (ICWA) or another 3rd party insurer if your accident occurred interstate, you can access our services for no additional out of pocket expense.

To be covered by the Insurance Commission of Western Australia for the costs of Physiotherapy treatment, your claim must be accepted by them, and you must provide us with a written referral from either your GP or treating medical Specialist. In most cases, you will be able to commence treatment immediately even if liability for your accident remains undecided as there are often significant benefits in early treatment intervention. However, all patients must be aware that if liability is declined, final responsibility for the account will lie with them.

Work Related Accidents

Workplace injuries are common. Every worker is free to choose their own health professional for the management of their work related injuries, be that their own GP or indeed their Physiotherapist.

Our team has extensive experience dealing with compensable injury claims. We have the knowledge and expertise to speed your recovery and get you back on deck in the shortest possible time frame. We have the facilities onsite to best manage your recovery, and being an independent clinic we have no affinity with your employer or their insurance company. Sometimes this is a significant advantage and avoids any perceptions of bias or pressure that sometimes accompanies attending 'company recommended' centres.

We will liaise closely with your GP and medical specialists, as well as your insurer when needed to make sure that the whole process is as ‘painless’ as possible. Our focus is on YOU, the patient, and making sure you get the right advice and injury management every step of the way.

Access to Physiotherapy services for a work related injury requires a Doctor’s referral and reporting of your injury to your employer. We can help advise you on this process if needs be, and your employer should be able to advise you of the appropriate steps to take to facilitate your recovery.
