Physiotherapy

What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapists help improve the mobility and function of people affected by injury, illness or disability through movement and exercise, manual therapy, education and advice. They assist people through every stage of life and are University trained specialists that help patients manage pain and prevent disease. Most people think of Physiotherapy in relation to muscular and skeletal problems and injuries, but there are many other sub-specialties in the field such as Neurological Rehabilitation, Cardio-Respiratory, and Women's Health to name just a few. In brief, Physiotherapy uses physical techniques and exercise to improve your movement, reduce your pain and stiffness, speed up your healing process and increase your quality of life.

All physiotherapists must be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA). They must be qualified, have insurance and be committed to ongoing education.

At Belmont City Physiotherapy Clinic, we believe strongly in empowering our patients to recover their health and regain their best function. As therapists, our role is to accurately and thoroughly assess your condition, provide you with the best evidence supported treatment that we can, and give you the tools to accurately direct your rehabilitation.
